1965 Porsche 356 C Coupe #220427
Dolphin Grey Dark Blue leather seats, Oatmeal tan Carpets
This Karmann built coupe is being sold from the Estate of Kirby Hollis, it actually was his wife’s car, they bought it 1997. Mary Jane drove it a lot, and they showed it at several concours, SCCA, PCA and 356 Registry since 1997. Kirby was well known as a top notch concours judge as well has one of the founding members of the Lockheed Sport Car Club and South Bay Sports Car Club.
This car has been well maintained and driven regularly up until the end on 2018. Don Wise and RMG (Bob Grigsby) has done most of the mechanical work on the car for over 25 years, Kirby who also was a good mechanic did meticulous and regular maintenance on his cars.
The car appears to be rust free. The previous owner repainted the car and rebuilt the engine and transmission, as he worked at Lukes and Shoreman, well known Porsche shop in Albany CA. In 1998 Kirby sent the seats to Auto International to be rebuilt and covered in Blue leather. Bruce Schmidt installed the remainder of the AI interior, (the original carpet may have been blue), keeping the original headliner, speakers and radio. Kirby added the wood wheel.
Engine # 715733 is most likely the original engine, and was rebuilt in 1996 @ 102,000 miles, adding SC carburetors.
Don Wise adjusted the carbs in October 2018 and he said it was “really strong and smooth”.
The 195-65 tires are newer, mounted on original chrome wheels.
Original owners manual/cover, pristine Tool Kit, and new bra.
Car is ready to drive anywhere.
